Romans 8:28 - “And we KNOW that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose for them.”

VERSE BREAKDOWN
Who is the “we” talking about? Earlier in the chapter, Paul addresses those who “belong to Jesus Christ,” “Christians,” and “brother and sisters.” These are specifically those who have given their lives to the Lord. Who believe Jesus came to SAVE them, admitting they need a Savior. Submitting to God and asking Him to be the Lord of their lives. If you question if this applies to you, take a second to just quiet your heart and allow God to come in. It is NOT too late. You are not too dirty or lost. God created YOU and He won’t forsake you.
We KNOW. Wow, that is a statement that is backed with total confidence. It’s also linked with the Holy Spirit. Verse 27 - “The Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.” Sometimes we don’t know what to pray or ask for and the Holy Spirit intercedes for us (v. 26). We have a constant mediator! Not a scheduled visit with a counselor, not a requested conversation with a vested wise friend, but a CONSTANT mediator and counselor in the Holy Spirit. Let’s take advantage of this during this time of isolation. I truly believe that as we are required to distance from most others in our lives, Christ is calling us TO HIM. He never leaves us-think about that. He is WITH you right now on your couch, teaching the kids, cleaning up messes, working. Praise God!
EVERYTHING will work together for GOOD. Nothing is left out. No child of God is skipped over. He created us and will NOT forsake us. Every battle, every argument, EVERY SINGLE hopeless situation will work together for GOOD. His word says it, I believe it.
The GOOD is tied to His purpose. Remember the quote at the beginning? It may not look pretty. It may be painful. It may bring us completely out of our comfort zone or flip our world as we know it upside down for a bit. We may get tired and even feel like we can’t go on. BUT God will work it out. He will come through and His GOOD and perfect WILL, will come to pass!
